Dear family and friends,
We are now at that time of year where we would normally be providing you with the details of our Annual Memorial Golf Tournament in memory of our son, Adam, held in support of the Kids Help Phone and asking you to participate and/or provide prizes and donations for that cause.
As many of you are aware, I am currently looking for employment outside of the Windsor area as there does not appear to be much available here at this time. I am currently in Vancouver staying with our daughter, Meghan, as the economy seems to be booming here and many more opportunities are presenting themselves. We currently have our house in Pointe West up for sale and will, in all probability, be moving from the area in the not too distant future. Sue is staying in Amherstburg until the house is sold and then will be joining me wherever the job market leads us.
As a result, it is with great sorrow in our hearts that we have decided that we have no alternative but to forego putting on the golf tournament, at least for this year, until our lives are a little more settled and we can focus the time and effort that is required to bring a tournament like this together.
Holding this yearly gathering with all of you, honouring our son’s memory and reaching out a helping hand to others through the phenomenal generosity of all who supported our cause has been a joy-filled and heart-felt mission and adventure for our family each and every year. One that has meant more than mere words could ever truly express…for without your love and support, we could never have manifested such phenomenal success in helping so many others both through Kids Help Phone and with the Architectural scholarship fund for Lawrence Technological University in Adam’s memory these past six years.
While we won’t be holding the tournament this year, we want you to know that we have had discussions with some of our friends who feel, as we do, that this is a very worthy cause and who have offered to help keep the event alive in future years. Hopefully you will be hearing from us next spring indicating that the tournament is on and again asking for your generous support.
If you are still interested in making some sort of donation to Kids Help Phone this year, Meghan and I have decided to participate in KHP’s walkathon being held on Sunday, May 7 across the country. Although we will be walking here in Vancouver, I have been assured that we can direct any donations we receive to the Windsor and area chapter of KHP.
Secure online pledges can be made with VISA, MasterCard or American Express by clicking on the links below. An electronic tax receipt will be emailed to you within 24 hours.
Please make a pledge in either Meghan's or Bob's name and help us in this very worthy cause.
Sincerely,
Bob, Sue and Meghan Kavelman
Dear
